He cares for me

He cares for me

“Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

Confucius said, “Even if a person has no long-term concerns, he may have near-term worries.”

If you don’t plan for the future, your present troubles will consume your life. An example is how one person uses credit cards. Some people don’t think too much when they buy things. They just swipe their credit cards to buy whatever they desire and tend to spend more than their income. When the bills come, they make the minimum payment plus interest, leading to zero savings in their bank account. And they constantly worry about losing their jobs.

On the other hand, having good plans for the future does not guarantee a problem-free life.

The future is in God’s hands. No one can be sure what the future holds. But people with long-term plans are more likely to have fewer worries.

When difficulties arise, you are trapped in pain and ponder where to turn. With whom do you share your worries?

Troubles at work, problems in interpersonal relationships, illness… They are like heavy objects that a person alone may not be able to lift. If you need someone to help you, you shall try to find a capable person. If you find someone who is weaker than you, not only he is unable to help but also you need to take care of him. If you find someone who is loving but lacks wisdom, it may be a disservice. Find someone who doesn’t care about your feelings, and you may feel slighted and ridiculed.

In those moments of despondency, turn to God, who is waiting to share your burden with you.

In God’s eyes, what is the difference between humans and animals? Genesis 1 says that humans were created in the image of God to share His honor and glory. Among all created beings, only humans have the concept of morality and can tell good from evil. Only humans share God’s attributes of justice and mercy. Only humans can interact with God and have relationships with other people. In I Corinthians 6, the Bible says that believers are “bought with a price.” It means that through Jesus’ blood and death on the cross, our lives are redeemed, and we become members of God’s family. God loves and cares for each Christian.

Understanding this biblical truth, we are assured of our standing with God. He loves me and cares about my well-being. To other people, I am just one of the 7.8 billion people in the world. To God, I am a unique and valued person. Therefore, when I have difficulties and worries, I know that He cares for me and is able to help. He understands how I feel and will lead me onto the right path. I can cast all my anxiety on Him and ask Him what to do next.
